Is TV Dead?

I'm not done with my sabbatical but since I write for TV, I thought it was important to share this article on whether network TV is going the way of the 8-track. It's from today's NY Times website, on their Room for Debate blog.

When I have a break in my writing, I'll come back to comment more about this.

Hi there!

I gave up television a decade ago... people can't believe that I don't own a television!!

"Why do I need one?" I ask them.

Hey back! Thanks for posting on my blog. I'm not the world's biggest apologist for TV, but I wouldn't want to throw out my TV either. Some of the best storytelling is going on right now on those little screens. With characters and situations a lot closer to real life than you get at your average weekend down at the movie house. Rivaling I'd say the best in current literature. It's not all reality and cacophony of images. You just have to be judicious about your choices, is all.

I hope you find something you like there. Don't give up on us yet. Cheers!
